Zywa is a YC-backed payment app built for teens and parents in the UAE. It allows teens to make payments via the app or by linking their cards to Apple or Google Pay, while parents can easily transfer money to their child's Zywa account.
At Zywa, our mission was clear: working towards our North Star Metric —Total Transaction Value. To achieve this, we focused on two key levers: increasing spend per user and attracting new users.
The real challenge? Designing for both teens and their parents, striking a balance that appealed to two very different audiences. From subtle UI tweaks to bold, new features, our team worked collaboratively to strategise, design, and deliver impactful solutions.
The other challenge? Designing for both English and Arabic users.
